FORENSIC VIDEO ANALYSIS
Advanced enhancement and analysis software for forensic video evidence, developed by Cognitech Inc and supplied, trained, and supported in the UK by Daetech Systems.
Cognitech Inc
Cognitech Inc was founded in 1988 and is headquartered in Pasadena, California. The company develops forensic video and image processing software for law enforcement, government, military, and forensic science applications worldwide, including the enhancement and analysis tools behind Video Investigator64, which carries 23 US patents.
Tri-Suite 64
A world-leading forensic video enhancer software suite based on scientific methods, processes, and peer reviews.
Video Active
Forensic video acquisition, conversion, resolution enhancer, video fusion, and calibration.
Video Investigator
The most advanced forensic video analysis software package for both still images and video evidence, designed to work as a powerful video enhancer software for forensic experts.
Automeasure
World-leading photogrammetry and crime scene measurement with integrated video analysis tools.
Cognitech Tri-Suite 64
Cognitech® Tri-Suite 64 edition is Cognitech’s current forensic imaging suite, built on over 200 proprietary filters and plugin, including the patented enhancement tools behind Video Investigator64.
Video Investigator
Enhancement & Analysis Video Investigator64 is Cognitech’s enhancement and analysis engine. For document and image authentication tools, see Image Authentication. For measurement and photogrammetry, see AutoMeasure.
FaceFusion3D
Most enhancement tools sharpen a single frame. FaceFusion3D works across a whole sequence instead, reconstructing detail in a moving face captured at a distance or in poor light.
Pattern Removal
A filter for clearing pattern noise from images — useful for latent prints on textured surfaces, and for preparing footage before finer detail work.
Adaptive Deblur
Traditional deblurring filters need the exact blur process (the Point Spread Function) known in advance. Adaptive Deblur estimates the blur from the image itself, so it can handle complex, non-linear blur that standard Motion, Gaussian, and Out-of-Focus filters can’t resolve. This approach, blind deconvolution, is an active area of imaging science research. Cognitech’s implementation is US-patented.
Science Fact
Cognitech grounds itself in published science rather than black-box processing. Its algorithms have been peer-reviewed, published, and in many cases patented — giving users a documented, repeatable method they can stand behind.
“ It’s not about prosecution, it’s about the forensic truth” Dr L Rudin, Cognitech
Rectification
An interactive 3D interface for correcting camera perspective in real time — useful wherever a skewed angle throws off a measurement.
Average Frames
Builds one cleaner image out of several frames from the same sequence, stripping dynamic noise from stationary objects. A simple technique, but often the fastest route to a usable still.
