Operation Resolve is one of two criminal investigations ordered following the publication of the Hillsborough Independent Panel’s report in September 2012. The other is an investigation by the Independent Police Complaints Commission (now the Independent Office for Police conduct IOPC). The aim of Operation Resolve was to undertake a thorough investigation into the events leading up to and including the disaster that took place on 15 April 1989 which resulted in the deaths of 96 people and injuries to 730 people at the Leppings Lane end of the football stadium. Operation resolve was also tasked with providing assisstance to Sir John Goldring, The Coroner to the Inquests.
In 2013 Daetech won the contract to supply all the equipment, software, servers, backup and consultation to the AV Team within Operation Investigation. 8 years on Daetech are still supporting the equipment and the team.
A project formed by the governments Center of Applied Science & Technology and ACPO ITS, called One Box was a competition where vehicle manufacturers and technolgy partners were challenged to provide a one box solution for the police force of the future. The one box solution must provide a vehicle with operational tools integrated into the vehicle such as CCTV, Facial Recognition, Digital Evidence Retrieval, advanced mapping. Full suite of communications across various platforms such as Wifi, 4g, 3g and even Satcom.
Daetech as part of a collaboration of technology partners worked with the Specialist Vehicle Department from Vauxhall to produce an advanced integrated police car which in turn won the ACPO ITS competition.
